Getting into the Holiday Spirit

Guest post written by my buddy Angelo Cooper

One of my first Christmas memories as a young girl was watching the movie, How The Grinch Stole Christmas. I remember watching this movie with my cousins at the age of five or six and being totally engrossed in the animation and story. I loved each and every one of the characters, especially all of the Whos in Whoville. I immediately asked my mom to buy me the book and it has been one of my most cherished Christmas keepsakes ever since. The vivid words and drawing of this movie stood out to me so much at such a young age, and I remember not being able to take my eyes away from the film.

Today, I still find myself getting sucked into this classic animated movie, whenever it comes on my satellite tv that i got after seeing this TV comparison. There is something so special about the way the movie was made and each of the characters that immediately makes it feel like Christmas. While there have been updated remakes of the movie, the classic, animated cartoon from the late sixties is still my all time favorite Christmas movie. Each Christmas season, I find myself searching for this movie to help put me in the Christmas spirit, and it always does the job perfectly.

A Family Tradition for New Year's Eve

Guest post written by my buddy Franklin Davenport

Our family has a special way we celebrate New Year's Eve every year. After setting our home security alarm from www.allhomesecurity.com/adt-home-security-benefits.html, my husband and our two children drive over to my parents' house for a delicious spaghetti dinner. My mother cooks a rich spaghetti sauce and prepares garlic bread that is just fabulous. My husband and I usually contribute the salad and a dessert to the meal. I try to find a new dessert recipe that everyone will enjoy each New Year's Eve. Later, while the kids play video games, the four adults play a game of either gin rummy or bridge. While we all enjoy playing the games, the best part of the evening's celebration is getting caught up with family and sharing fun memories. I know that my children will remember the time spent at grandma and grandpa's house. At about ten o'clock, everyone sits down to watch a classic movie. We are usually in the mood to watch a comedy from the 0930's or '40's. In years past, the kids would generally fall asleep before midnight arrived. However, now that they are approaching their teenage years, they are still wide-awake at midnight. My mother gets out her homemade punch so we can all make a toast to the New Year. I hope that our quiet family celebration will continue for many years to come.

Miracle on 34th Street is my favorite Christmas Special

Contributed by Milford Woods

Even though Miracle on 34th Street is a movie I still consider it my favorite non-animated Christmas special. Ever since I was a very young child I can remember Miracle on 34th Street being on TV Christmas Eve. There is just something special about that movie. Every Christmas Eve when we get home from my mother-in-laws house after opening gifts and eating a wonderful dinner the first thing I do is put on the Best Choice TV to watch Miracle on 34th Street. It is just a tradition in our house.

I make some hot chocolate for my husband and I and we sit down and watch the movie. Even though we know exactly what is going to happen next we would not miss this movie for anything in the entire world. We always make sure we are home in time to watch Miracle on 34th Street. It is on every Christmas Eve at 8 pm central time. The movie is still shown in black and white and I personally hope they never make it in color. The black and white just makes the movie have so much more meaning.

The movie stars Maureen O'Hara as Doris Walker, John Payne as Fred Gailey, Edmund Gwenn as Santa Claus, Gene Lockhart as Judge Henry X. Harper, and Natalie Wood as Susan Walker.

Getting the Best Deals on Christmas Shopping on Black Friday

Thanks for the guest post by Bradly Watkins

My mom and I were really excited to hit the deals on Black Friday this year. We've never gone before because I've always worked in retail in the past, meaning that I was always at the stores on Black Friday -- but never able to shop! This year, however, I was really looking forward to being on the other side of the register.

We got up at 17AM and bundled up in lots of layers and comfortable clothes. After packing up all of the sales ads and our shopping lists, we set our home security alarm (ADT Memphis home systems), ran to the gas station for some hot chocolate, and then made our way to the first store. Our first stop was opening at 3AM, so we had to hurry!

Luckily, some of the biggest places that we wanted to hit were opening at different times. This made shopping much easier. We started out at Kohl's at 3AM, moved on to Target at 4AM, and then hit a few other stores that were already open before going to Nebraska Furniture Mart at 7AM. Some of the stores at one shopping center near our house had been open since 00PM on Thanksgiving. I was glad that all of the stores we wanted to visit were opening on Friday. We got nearly all of our Christmas shopping done for great prices.

Cole Haan Wallet Shopping Sale at Zappos.com

Oh my! I can’t believe that Christmas has already ended! Time really flies so fast nowadays that’s why I’m a little bit anxious about me giving birth again. Well, I really want to have a second child next year but when I think about how painful it is to deliver a child, my heart suddenly stops and begins to pump out blood fast. In short, I’m really scared about the whole thing, especially now that I know how it feels. Urgh!

That’s why my only option to stop thinking about my pregnancy and delivery, I tried to lure myself to online shopping. Yup! I really want to shop and need to shop to forget about the pain. Lol! Shopping is not an excuse because I consider it as my reliever. Anyways, I really need a wallet right now because my old Coach wallet has been sold and I’m currently wallet less. So to fill in the gap, I’m planning to buy a Cole Haan Crosby Slim wallet.

Good thing this wallet is on SALE! Now, my guilt feeling will be lifted because of that. Lol! ;)

A Good Time To Read

I appreciate the guest post, Marian Combs

The first snow of winter is an excellent time to sit down with a good book. There's no better time to engage in this activity. Don't worry about whether or not it's a holiday book; any book will be special if you read it during a snowy day when the great outdoors is off-limits. You can read an intellectual book, mystery novel, or holiday classic. It's going to keep you company during a long day inside. I've found myself happy to do this many times, enjoying a book more than ever before. It's not necessarily the only time I read but it's certainly my favorite time to read. I'm not all about reading though.

After I finish my good book, I'll always turn on my direct tv satellite specials and watch Christmas shows for a long time. It's my way of having fun even though I'm stuck indoors. I recommend these things to anyone that gets cabin fever when they must stay in during a snow. It's something that will let you appreciate those quiet times at home. They won't be a curse anymore, but an opportunity to learn more about yourself and the world through quiet activities like reading and watching television. I know many of my friends that love to read during the first snow of the winter, and I can definitely see why they love this.

Nick Jr is the Best

Contribution by Paula Gonzales

We love to watch the channel Nick Jr. on our Channles from Direct. It is amazing and there is always something on for the kids to watch. It used to be called Noggin, but they recently changed it. I can't say enough good things about this channel. Right now my daughter is watching "Little Bill" which is a show by Bill Cosby. They are all educational and cute. It shows cartoons most of the time, but once in awhile it will have a show like "The Fresh Beat Band" which is adults. They are still good shows that the kids love to watch. I can honestly say I have never seen a show on here that is not good for them. One thing that is so great is that it is the same stuff 24 hours a day. If you have a sick kid at 3:00 am, there is still something that you can switch over to and let them watch. We have had to use this before and I appreciate it so much. It is hard to find a channel that is on 24 hours a day for our children. This is an answer to my prayers.

Early Birds Gets the Worm

I can’t believe that as early as now prom dresses are now being advertised for sale. I mean it is still the holidays and prom nights will not be live by February, right. Oh well, that’s how their marketing strategies work and I think they are doing a great job on that. :) Why? Because as early as now ladies like my cousin Celine is planning her big prom night. She wanted to become the prom queen and as early as now she’s scouting gowns and accessories for that big night. Luckily, she found the dress that will make her dream come true. :)

Time to Sleep

Hi guys!

It’s midnight once again and I’m still up. I know it’s not really cool for a pregnant mom like me to be staying late but what I can do I’m having a hard time to doze. I’ve been experiencing this kind of sleep dilemma since last week and until now I’m still not sure the real source of it. Lol!

Though, I have read some books and articles about it and I’m having a conclusion that it maybe because I ate snacks at night which causes me to feel bloated and makes me feel nauseated when I lie down. Also, I think it has something to do with me taking a nap in the afternoon which I normally don’t when I was still working. I think my body is still on the process of adjusting to its preggo and wahm stage. Oh well, I need to doze after searching a way to buy gold bullion for my client. Hope to finish it before 1am. :)

My Dream Destinations

I was watching the news yesterday when they suddenly featured Angelu De Leon’s ( a local star in the Phils ) honeymoon European cruises cruises. Yup! She’s into a honeymoon stage again with his new husband. Well, I think the cruise happened a few days after their wedding last September 2010. They literally went thru 11 cities in Europe for a month just to enjoy each other. I think they went to Paris, Madrid, Belgium etc. Whew! Imagine that! It must have been a bliss being with your love of your life in these beautiful cities. Europe has been one of my dream destinations and I hope one day I could travel there to with my lovey duby of course. :)

Savoy House Lighting | Lighting Fixtures

While finishing some online tasks, I stumbled upon this cool bathroom lighting that I saw at savoy house lighting gallery.

Really nice isn’t?

It is a Savoy House "Ravenna" 3 Bulb Bathroom Lighting that is available in oiled copper. I think this will look great on our newly renovated bathroom. And I might send these details to my brother who is building his new house. :)

Natalie time-lapse video: From birth to 10 years old in 85 seconds

Have you seen this video that is all about a little girl named Natalie? I saw this video at the Yahoo featured page today and I just thought of sharing this to you guys.

This video is about a 10 year old girl named Natalie. Her dad captured her image almost everyday just to observe how her little girl grows. And the result is this 85 seconds video which her dad calls as “Slow motion human growth “. It is a time-lapse video of Natalie from birth till the age of 10 years old.

Cool! :)

Now I’m thinking, what if I’ll make something like this for my son in the future that will be totally awesome, right? This one is definitely a great creation borne from a Father’s Love to his daughter. So sweet. :)

Cartoons Invaded Facebook Profiles | End Violence Against Children

It was about 3 days ago when I saw the message from one of my Facebook friends about changing profile photos to cartoons characters from the past or favorites characters from your childhood.

I really got excited with the thought because I love cartoons and seeing cartoons on profile pictures of everyone will be much more awesome. My friends as creative and vivid memories of the past that even those characters I don’t remember. Here are some of the most famous picks of cartoons from the past.

Peanuts

.. Hello Charlie Brown…

Carebears

… Carebears countdown… 4321 shine!

Smurfs

But as I read further, I saw a post and the main purpose why this is being done. It was only then that I realized that this is being done for a special purpose.

Here’s the purpose:

“ Change your facebook profile picture to a cartoon from your childhood
and invite your friends to do the same. Until Monday there should be no
human faces on facebook, but an invasionof memories. THIS IS FOR THE
FIGHT AGAINST VIOLENCE TOWARDS CHILDREN. “

True enough this is a great purpose and Facebook is the greatest medium so far in this generation that will make this intention successful. So let us remember our childhood and post the cartoons that we had loved before! You still have until December 6, 2010 to be a part of this momentous event.

A Great Career Online

While doing some online stuffs this morning , I thought of opening my facebook to take a peek on what’s new in the world of social networking. Suddenly, one of my long time co-workers buzzed me. He was one of our production supervisors then and quite luckily he’s not doing great in UK with his wife and children. He buzzed just to ask me how I was doing, he got the news that I just resigned from our employer and he was a bit shock when he learned about it.

Well, I just told him that I need a greener pasture and growth and because our former employer couldn’t give that to us I might as well withdraw. Anyways, because of what he heard, he told me that he know something that help might us both. It’s a work at home business that he recently discovered. I told him to give me the link and give me some information about it. He emailed me the links of the online affiliate programs that he’s into and he’ll be willing to orient me about it when he has the time. I just hope that this will be the start of a great career online other than blogging. :)

Corsets for Irish

My friend Irish will be getting married on January 2011. With that, our group decided to surprise her with a bridal shower this December. The party will also be a reunion of the group because it’s almost a year since our last get together. And because of that, I thought of buying a gift as early as now. Well, I don’t want to get crazy over the holidays right, especially that I haven’t spent a single peso for my Christmas list.

I thought of giving her a corset. What do you think? Do you think giving her such will make her more gaga over the wedding? lol! Well, I bet her husband will when he sees the corsets I'll buy for his wife. Good thing, I came across Glamrose.com a one stop shop online store for sexy wardrobes and accessories. They have a variety of corsets and lingerie’s that are perfect for honeymooners. Lol! I’ll be setting my orders in a while but of course before that I will consult my friends first before giving my orders. Its better that they know before one or two of us have the same gifts for Irish.

Time to sign off for a while and buzz my friends. :)

Thank God for Internet

I had my second pre-natal check up a few days ago. And as expected with my weight, I lost about 4 pounds which is quit normal for a pregnant woman like me who’s experiencing morning sickness and food aversion due to queasiness. With that, my OB gave me the same vitamins I had and will divert the vitamins with iron after my first trimester. I sure hope by that time I will have less nausea and will gain weight like any other preggos out there. Hopefully, I should learn more tips and advises on health pregnancy to help me get thru these critical periods. Well, I’m not saying that I don’t have any knowledge on being pregnant (considering this is my second child). What I’m trying to say is – it has been 4 years since I had Aj and somehow I felt that I forgot some of the great preggo tips that I’ve learn before. lol!

Oh well, all I can say is thank god for the internet. Lol!

Favorite Past -Time

When we were younger, my brother and I used to watch a TV shopping network where we spot for different stuff for us to buy and order and had them deliver in our house. We just love watching their demos and freebies! Our very first order was a set of Proactive acne cleanser. It was ordered by my brother Mike because he was on the verge of pop-outs then. lol! Apparently, we saw some good results! Thank God! :)

Great Job Bro

Are you wondering why many people today buy gold?

Well, as for me I’m not surprise because buying gold as an investment is a great way to invest. Gold and many other precious stones has been dominating the market of investment because of their accumulative value and secure asset nature. It’s like buying one is one of the greatest deal one could ever had.

That’s why I’m proud to say that my brother is one of the wisest individual who took risk of investing and at the same time smart enough to choose gold as his investment. I think he read some of my posts about gold. Lol! :)

Hoping to be a Businesswoman

Now that I am a work at home mom, I thought of enhancing my earning prowess. I was thinking of establishing an office supply store or a office or school aid store that offers, typing, photocopying, document imaging etc. But somehow after computing all the expenses that I need to spend on setting it up looks like it will be quit impossible for me as of this moment. My fund is quit limited and not yet ready for such project. I hope someday I could have a chance and named myself as a successful businesswoman.

Worried this Christmas

Last month my brother asked me what I want this Christmas and I didn’t hesitate to tell him that I really want the ipod touch 32g I saw online. Thought I was joking because I know that the gadget was quit pricy I taunted him that if he will give me such gift I will buy him a cool gadget as well. To my surprise, I received a package this morning and I was really so shock when I receive that I came from him. I opened it and I had mixed emotions – happy and worried at the same time. Happy because I have a new ipod touch, worried because of my promise to him. Urgh! Now, what should I do! :)

WAHM Goal # 1 | Learning How to Save

I was browsing the internet this morning when I came across Belle De Jour. I can’t believe that the year is about to end and a new planner is out for order. My very first planner with them was that of 2009, I also had the 2010 planner but unfortunately, I haven’t used the said planner efficiently. Maybe I’m not the type of person who really plans everything I do and I’m not really used on having a planner on my side. But when I saw one of my online buddies who just purchased a 2011 BDJ planner for herself, I thought of ordering again. Especially when I saw the cash flow tracker part which I really need at this point.

But again, I paused for a while and asked myself, “Do I really need this planner?” I am a WAHM now and I think it will be useless if I order one again. I mean when I was working at the office I had one but I didn’t use it efficiently and effectively. What more now that I'm just staying home?

That’s why I decided not to buy this time but instead make my own planner and cash flow tracker using the Excel format ( which of course is for my personal use only ).

With that, I could have a planner and tracker at the same time and save about 598 pesos from spending! Wow! I can’t believe I just said that. Seems like (because I’m officially jobless) I’m beginning to realize the importance of money and budgeting everything. Cool! I think I should continue this and make a WAHM goal note for myself. :)

But of course, for those who needs the planner you want to order you can visit their website here - Belledejourpowerplanner.com

Wise Enough

I’m currently searching the website of a beauty school in Phoenix. Well, as usual one of our relatives needs my help again for she really needs to know the curriculum of a beauty school that her boyfriend plans to enroll her. Yup! Her boyfriend will pay all tuition fee and other expenses for her enrollment in this beauty school. It was actually my cousin Zel who asked my help about this.

At first she was really happy and excited about the news her boyfriend uttered but when she got to her senses she thought of checking out the school first before charging in. Well, maybe she just wants to make sure that her boyfriend’s money won’t go to waste. And also she doesn’t want to waste her time studying beauty stuffs on school that is not renowned as reputable. Well, I can’t blame her, many beauty schools nowadays charms many people but don’t provide the knowledge and certificate they need. Good thing, my cousin was wise enough to check it out.

I'm getting BIG!

I swear I’m getting big! :)

Well, I know I cannot control the fact that I’m gaining weight especially now that I’m pregnant which I know I cannot do something to stop it at this time. But by next year after months after my delivery, I plan to trim down and shaped my body up like before. And if diet pills are needed I won’t hesitate to take one but of course the pills will be scrutinized first by me before I buy it. Just to be sure, right? ;)

Nothing Serious

Last week my grandmother was rushed to the hospital due to unknown reasons. Her doctor advice us that she needs a blood exam to find out her true condition. So we took her blood to the hospital laboratory to have the examination and after a few hours the result came in. We immediately show the result to the doctor. The findings? My grandmother is suffering from carnitine deficiency.

Oh well, good thing it was nothing serious.

Are you looking for the best web hosting site you can ever have in managing your domain? Well, I think you better stop your search now for I just found and awesome web hosting hub that offers the best hosting services, lists, testimonials, and hosting reviews you can use of. Yup! Check out Webhostingfan.com where it was awarded as the best web hosting provider of 2010! Wow! Cool!

Their services are all in one! From the rating of the top web hosting companies, where the have the web hosting reliability, support and pricing details. They also posts real testimonials from clients and reviews from users or website owners that have tried such web hosting services. So what else can we ask for? Nothing more, right?

That’s why, I sent an email to my friend Justin who has been bugging me to help him find the best web hosting services in the world wide web. You see, he just bought a domain and was planning to enter the world of blogging. But of course, I told him to read more and post more before he becomes a full professional blogger. I also told him to start his blog first with a free hosted blog like blogger. But because of his excitement he asked me if I can help him find a web hoster for his first ever website. Anyways, I’ll be buzzing him in awhile about this great news, if ever he hasn’t check his email yet.

A Dress for Me :)

I’m currently in search for women's dresses right now. You see, it’s been a long time since I bought a dress either off or online. That’s why I thought that today is the best time to buy. It will be my last gift to myself as an employee because by next week I’ll be a housewife.

Here’s one of the dresses I saw that interest me.

Beautiful isn’t? I think this dress will definitely fit my body. Hopefully, I could have it by the end of the month. :)

Bag Seller

Now that I’m staying home, one of my plans is to join online auction. Yup! I’ll be selling my branded bags online so that I could convert them to cash and used them as our house budget. It’s better to be practical nowadays than to suffer from not eating. Besides I really can’t use all of them anymore because I won’t be going out everyday to flaunt them. Lol!

Shifting to a New Level

As some you know, I’ll be a SAHM in the coming days. With that, I thought of searching some health care careers online that I thought I can study. I've seen some but I’m still in doubt of their credibility but will inquire soon about their trainings. I’m doing this because I felt that I should make a career change now for working as an Accountant is not really in my blood. Well, just a thought! :)

New Package!

Hi guys, how's life?

If your asking my side, I'm doing just fine. Actually, I'm quit ecstatic as of this moment because my SIL called me informing us that a package from her will come next week! Which means lots of chocolates and cool stuffs again from Canada. But what really made me sigh is the fact that she bought my son Aj a Nintendo wii! lol!

Well, I don't exactly know why she bought the game console for my boy who barely knew how to use it but nonetheless I'm still happy and thankful for the gift. I bet hubby is much happier because he'll be the one using the Nintendo! lol! :) Anyways, with that thanks a lot Sis! :)

Nice Move

Hi guys! I’m up and browsing the internet early this morning for I was ask by my dad to call his Outer Banks homes agent. He told me that he cannot contact the agent as he has so many questions to ask before reserving a unit. Wow! I didn’t know he was planning to own one of those but of course, I was happy for it for it will be very beneficial to us especially when we plan to have a grand vacation.

I Want a Shih Tzu!

My friend Jean called me a while ago. She was asking me if I know an online store that offers cheap dog beds. Yup! She’s planning to buy a dog bed for her new baby Shih Tzu. She sent me a photo of her new puppy and I was really amazed on its cuteness! He was like a stuff toy dog with a lot of fur! He’s so cuddly and adorable! Oh, if only I could have a dog like (with hubby’s permission) I will surely give him the best care and best things a dog could ever have! :)

The Attack

My brother is being attack by acne again and he really hates it! Does this mean he has to change his dermatologists again or should he consult her again about acne? Urgh! When topics about skin issues, my brother is a sure top grosser. You see, amongst my siblings my brother Mike has the most consultation issues on derma clinics. I never thought that as late as now, he will still have acnes on his face.

Well, I’m not really an expert but I guess he got them from poor eating diet. I think when someone eats unhealthy foods and have bad eating habits. They will surely get poor skin too, right? Oh well, I guess we have to call his derma again tomorrow for a schedule.

Christmas Gift Ideas

“Its Christmas!” that’s what my son always says before he goes to bed and he keeps on telling that I should give him a gift and his mom as well. Oh men is that really a pressure on me because for I haven’t got any christmas gift ideas for my wife! I know, I’m a bad husband for saying that, but what I really meant was I really want something special to give this Christmas for my loving wife.

Any suggestion guys?

On Supplements

My cousin’s wife will give birth to their first baby boy this coming November and they are so excited and nervous at the same time to see their baby because finally they will have one! You see it took them eight long years for this moment. Thanks to some testosterone supplements that the doctor gave to my cousin Lito which he took for at least a month and it really worked! I’m really glad that they will become a parent soon! Congrats kuya! :)

Muscle Building

Building muscles is no joke you must be really dedicated if you really want to achieve the body that you desire and most people spend most of their time in the gym just to achieve that. And with all those cardio exercise and heavy lifting they do their muscles will really feel tired and sore. Good thing, muscle building supplements are there to save the day and the soaring body. With their aid one will surely achieve the muscles that they want for their body. Check out some articles and reviews to know more about it. :)

The Benefits of Multivitamins

It’s the first week of the month meaning we need to go back to the hospital because it is my mother in law’s regular monthly medical check up. After she was hospitalized for having a weak body and for not eating well her doctor gave her a multivitamin for her to recover immediately. Good thing, the vitamins gave her a health boosts and has replenished most of his energy. Thank God she’s well now, at least we won’t have to worry about her health this time.

Go for the Gold!

Still thinking of buying or not a gold coin?

Well. If you’re not yet sure and still have doubts about this buying this precious stone you better read more information on United States Gold Bureau website where it offers a lot of interesting facts about the said precious thing. But I’ve said on my previous posts you can never be wrong with this one if you enroll it as an investment. I mean, just imagine how much you will gain if you persue on buying it. Its value is definitely accumulative in nature, so it only means that you can never go wrong with it keeping it as your asset.

So what are you waiting for? Buy one now and earn lots of money from it! :)

Need Expert Advice?

I don’t know if some of you have notice but many people nowadays are getting sick! Well, I don’t really know if it’s the weather, the foods or the people themselves that causes the disease. Whatever the cause maybe, it is always cool that one should take good care of their health because as the saying goes. Health is wealth. :)

Just like what happened to my friend Roger. He was a maintenance man in their company. One day, an accident happened while he was working. I think he has broken a knee because he has fallen down from the roof while fixing it. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and was given cryotherapy. Cryotherapy is a kind of therapy for muscle or joint injuries, it is also known as ice or cold therapy. Emergency Cash

We all need money right? Last week we really had a bad day due to a strong typhoon that nearly destroys all the houses in our town. We were all glad that no one from our family was badly injured but the bad news it nearly spend all of our savings just for the repair of our house. And I think I would ask my boss if I could have the privilege of having my very last payday cash advance so that we could finish our house.

Just a Tip

Gaining weight is a real problem for us especially to those who don’t really have time to go to a gym to work out because of their busy schedule. And that is why many keep on searching for weight loss pills that work as an alternative to reduce that extra weight and still keep us in our busy schedule. But of course to achieve such one should make sure that the pill they will drink is safe and really effective. Well, you can have some information on that aspect by reading reviews and testimonials of real users.

Just a tip, always make sure that the pill you thought of trying is approved by the bureau of foods and drugs in your country.

Daily Inspiration #1 | Silence is Golden

On this day of your life, Edralin, we believe God wants you to know ... that silence is golden.

When we are quiet, we can hear God's messages to us. Sometimes these messages may be in the form of subtle intuition. Sometimes it may feel like an inner knowing. Sometimes we may hear a 'still, small voice.' If it feels right in your heart, trust that it is God speaking to you.

Next Goal

My father finally decided to buy his very first gold bar!

Well, it has been centuries when I told him to buy one and was convincing him ever since because of its accumulating value. For me it is one of the greatest investments indeed aside from buying land and stocks. Urgh! If only I have enough money to buy one I already did, especially now that having your own investment is the wisest thing one can ever do.

When I was younger, I remember investing on bags and shoes which is not ideal. Because of the fact that their value diminishes together with their model. That’s why my next target would be the precious stones. I sure by next year I could have one! :)

Buy Gold Bars

Looking for an investment that doesn’t really go down but instead it will keep on rising over time then buying gold is the best investments. Like my cousin Elvin who have put up a pawnshop as his business and its main offer is to buy gold bars which he promise to really work hard and keep his business running even at night. Well, I think the hard work has really paid off. Because after a few years of opening his first ever pawnshop, he ready to open 4 branches nationwide! Cool huh? That's what I call perseverance with luck! :) Congrats Cuz!

Mc Donalds New Delivery Promo

I was watching television this afternoon where I saw a Mc Donald’s commercial about their new delivery services.

They now delivery without any minimum purchase required. Before they do ( I think ) but I’m pretty sure about Jollibee where your order have to reach about 300 pesos before they deliver for free. But with Mc Donalds , even if you buy only twister fries your order will be delivered – but of course you will still have to pay 40 pesos. But at least you don’t need to spend about 300 pesos more for a delivery. Lol! :)

Now, I’m hoping my twister fries will arrive before dinner time. Lol! :)

Does it really Works?

Last month when we went for a vacation I saw this weight loss pill in a local store and I decided to buy it and give it to my friend Edward. You see he always wanted to lose weight since when we were in high school. So I went to his house after that and gave him my gift. :) He went ecstatic when he saw the pills but somehow I saw a grin on his face, like he’s doubtful and was asking if “does alli work?” Well, I just told him to try them for it might work on him. There’s no wrong in trying, right? :)

Our Greatest Investment

Last night, I saw my husband browsing thru the United States Gold Bureau website. When I came close to him I saw that the United States Gold Bureau is an authorized dealer for the U.S. Mint and is a leading resource for news and information about the precious metals industry, providing clients with the resources necessary to make informed decisions about their precious metals portfolio. Hmmm… Does this mean that he’s planning to buy some gold coins as an investment?

Well, why not?! It has been our long term plan to buy gold and other precious metals as an investment. I could say that they are one of the safest ways to protect ones wealth and gain more because of its accumulating value. I just hope he could browse on the some gold that fits our budget.

Little Equestrian

When I was young, I wanted to be an equestrian. Yup! Believe it or not, it was my dream then. Whenever we go to Baguio, I always ask my mom to hire a horseman and teach me how to ride a horse but unfortunately my mom didn’t like the idea that her little girl will be riding a horse. I think she had a phobia of me falling down! Lol!

Oh well, that’s how moms are! :)

Mesothelioma Case

My cousin Kathleen is bugging me again about her thesis. I bet you still remember her; she’s my cousin who is taking up Nursing and has been asking my help about her malignant Mesothelioma case. You see, the dreaded disease was assigned to her and she needs further study and actual presentation as well. I think she needed to interview actual patients as well as practitioners about the disease but the problem is we don’t know anyone who has such illness. Lol! Oh well, time to browse the internet. :)

Health Plans for Employees

Hi guys!

Life has been busy again on my side of town. I’ve been searching for Blue Advantage package that my boss has been asking me to check on. I think he will ask for a quotation about their health plans on companies like us. Well, I think my boss has finally woke up to his senses and is now giving us some free health plans. Wow! Finally! :)

It's Nice to be a Kid

My friend Lizbeth was playing pretend with her little girl last night. I was at their house last night, hoping to be online because our internet connection is really crawling like a turtle. The little girl Suzzane was playing the role of treasure hunter where she holds a bar of cheese which she pretends to be gold bullion. Her mom, which is my Lizbeth, is pretending to be a pirate where she steals all the treasure hunter’s precious possessions.

It was a riot I tell you, they were running and screaming all over the house. Good thing, the dad is yet home to be the captain of the ship. Lol! Oh well, playing with kids once in awhile surely gives a positive vibe of life. :)

Excited to Shop

My husband will be traveling to the southern part of the country on October 11. He will be away for about a week to spend some bonding time with his peers. Yup! It’s not a business trip; it was actually a requested vacation courtesy of his long time friend Elvin. They will be coming home from Guam on the same the same date and will fly again to their getaway with my husband and his brother. That’s why when the booking of the trip was confirmed my husband got excited that he immediately asked me to go to the mall and went straight to the men's clothing section to buy some clothes and shorts for his trip! Lol! Yup! He’s really excited about it because it is his first time to travel far without me! Lol!

Unique Christmas Cards

Christmas is just around the corner and with the days approaching fast many among us is now thinking what we should give to our love ones. Most of you might think of giving personalize gifts like pens, pendants or shirts other might buy yummy pastries and cakes and those who can afford more might buy cool gadgets for their love ones. But not me, I decided to be different this Christmas. I thought of giving a more touching and straight from the heart gift. And you know what I thought about? Giving unique Christmas cards is my best plan! :)Cards are very traditional but definitely can pinch a heart! :)

So what do you think?

Halloween Costumes for Adults

The month of October just came in which means Halloween is just around the corner. Last year my family and I really had a fun trick or treat because of the cute batman costume that my son has worn. I love every praises I heard from the audience and I was thinking of making my son’s costumes a little more unique and scary. And to add up to the excitement, hubby and I decided to buy ourselves some scary adult costumes as well. Oh we’re really hoping that we could buy the costumes we want before they run out of stock! :)

A Great Gift for my FIL

It’s my father in law’s birthday today and my wife said that we should go to their house and pay him a little surprise. Well, surprising him will be the greatest idea ever and my wife is really excited about it. That’s why before we went to their house; we stop on a nearest mall to buy him a gift. Upon entering a mall, we saw promotional products of his favorite watch. I think the promo was due to the brand’s 10th year anniversary. So, we decided to give it a go and bought the watch! Oh I sure hope my FIL will love our gift. :)

Fast Cash in an Instant

My friend Cyril buzzes me a while ago, she was asking me if I can help her find some fast loans that she can apply on. You see, she really needs cash this moment because her mom is currently at the hospital and she needs them for the operations as well as the medications after that. Her mom has goiter and the doctor said they need to pull it out before the toxins get into her system. That’s why a day after that they immediately confined her mom without any money on their pocket. Good thing, her payday is only a few days to go so she can at least apply at any fast payday loans before they day of discharge. But apparently, the lending institution has been closed for several days now, that is why I told her to check on some online payday loans where she can apply in an instant. Oh well, I just hope she succeeds and hopefully her mom get well soon!

Asset Based Lenders

My friend just quit his job because he want put up his own business. He’s just so tired of his bosses and all the stresses from work. One day, he approached me and ask for some advise or tips on how he should start his business with just a little money that he save from his previous work. So I told him to look for an asset based lenders or lending company that would give him the fund for his business and a payment scheme that will not be so heavy in his pocket. Good thing, my mom knows a lending institution that can help him and all I have to do know is give him our contacts. :)

Ncstar Binoculars

My friend Elvin told me that he’s planning to spend his vacation in one of the most beautiful country in the world which is Africa. He wanted to explore the country and look at nature’s best animals in the planet. That’s why he asked me to help him choose which ncstar binoculars he should buy. He heard from one of his colleagues that these are one of the best tools to bring if you’re going to the wild country. I’ve always wanted to go there too but our budget is still scare and can’t afford to buy a ticket or two.

Iphone Warranty

My SIL from Canada bought an Iphone here in the Philippines. She really wanted to buy this phone but she assumed that she will get a cheaper deal here than where she came from. She bought it a few days ago and loved every bit of it. Unfortunately, something went wrong with the phone, the phone touch pad seems to be malfunctioning. She immediately search for the iphone warranty card and called the store to request for a check up or replacement. Good thing, she still had the card or else she will be returning home to Canada with a broken iphone. ;)

Rustic Furniture for my In-laws

My in -laws asked me last week to help them purchase some furniture for their new home. They specifically want to enhance their receiving area and their dining niche. So I took them to a local furniture shop to look for something that they really want and in just a few minutes, my mother in law saw this rustic furniture and fell in love with it the moment she saw it. It was so unique that she was so excited to show it to us. When I saw it, I decided that I want to have one myself too! Lol! :)

We Love Diamonds

My friend and her girlfriend had been together for the fast five years now. Their relationship had been stronger than before. Last night, my friend told me that he wants to marry her and want to spend to rest of his life with her. So I told him that why don’t you propose and give her some loose diamonds than a ring as your engagement gift. Whoa! That would be a very unique and a very expensive gift too!lol! Right? ;)

Women just loves diamonds! :)

Accutane Lawsuit

As I’ve said earlier, I was browsing the internet for an assignment that my dad asks me to accomplish. But as I was about to open a website about it, I came across an article about Accutane lawsuit.

I never thought that Accutane can have devastating effects on ones health. Well, I first heard about it from a friend who was planning to buy and take it as his acne treatment. He asks me some advice about it and good thing, I told him to read reviews and testimonies first or ask a dermatologist about it. Good thing, his dermatologist told him not to take such for the treatment is still under evaluation. A few weeks after upon consulting, news and articles like what I’m reading right now is condemning Accutane. This called vitamin can cause bowel movement diseases and due to the prominent effects of this treatment, lawyers were hired to settle severe cases of this dangerous substance. Oh my, thank God my friend was saved from it. Now, time to check out this article on Trasylol lawsuit.

A New Closet for Us

This week will be pretty busy for my husband. As we have agreed, he will make a new wooden closet for our bedroom. Our old is really of age (20 years old) and really needs to be replaced.

We tried browsing the internet and saw some closet with organizer.

They won’t exactly look like this because he drawn a better closet than this. :) I’ll just post the finish product after my husband with the help of his dad is done with it.

Gold Bullion | New Investment

Hi guys! I’m still awake. I was out online the whole day for I have some important errands to attend to. That’s why tonight is the night for me to search gold bullion for my dad.

Yup! My dad is actually asking me to assists him in buying bullion as his first ever mineral investment. You see he has entered the investment thingy a few years ago and he started off with stocks. He was doing great until this date but when he saw my post about the great benefits of investing of precious minerals like silver, gold and diamonds he got really interested to the point he called me if what I wrote was really real and I have actual proofs. Well, I said yes of course, for some of my friends and bosses has invested on them and are earning very well from it. I also said that if only I have enough money to investment on such I won’t hesitate. So, 3 days after uttering those words my dad called me and was convince to join the pack. Good daddy! :)

The Joy of Online Shopping

Shopping online is one of the most convenient ways to buy what you need without the hassle of going to the store and falling on a long line to the cashier just to pay for your loots. Many people nowadays have been doing this since the booming of the internet. That is because many sellers has set their shop online for many people has been busy with their work or lives thereby making them less visible in the outside world.

I myself was an avid online shopper and I can say that the convenient of shopping in the internet is the best experience ever especially if you have a buy.com coupons! lol! :)

Acne Cleansers

I’ve noticed that my hubby has been scratching his head for about a week now. I asked him what is wrong with his head and he told me that he doesn’t know. So, I took a look at his head and saw that there were red bumps on it. I ask him if they were itchy and painful, he said that they are a bit itchy.

That morning, we went to our dermatologist and told her about the itch. She said that they were acne and we have nothing to worry about. She gave us some acne cleansers for him to apply for a week. Urgh! I just wish hubby gets well very soon.

The effect of it is like lifting the skin of your face to show your young looking skin. Yup! You can be young again with this treatment. A miracle indeed isn’t?

Not as Good | Resident Evil After Life

At last we we’re able to watch the “After Life” sequel of Resident Evil. The movie date push thru last night and I can say that I’m not really ‘thrilled' with the film. Maybe there were less action scenes and horrifying views from undead. Plus the fact that there were too many slow mos which cause a less thrilling action scenes ( for me ).

I don’t really want to tell about it more further for I may spoiled the movie but overall the movie was just OK ( plain ok) nothing spectacular unlike the first 3 sequel. In short, the “Infection”, “Apocalypse” and “extinction” were much better than “After Life”. That's all I can say.

Craving for a Drift Burger

I want to munch this delicious burger! Urgh!

I’m actually trying to control my food intake for my tummy is really swelling with fats. I don’t know if I should say that I’m getting fat if only the fat on my stomach is accumulating.

Yes! I really want to gain some pounds because I’m honestly underweight. The good news is a gain a pound or two but the only problem is the weight gain came from my overweight stomach! Urgh! But still I want to eat this burger asap!

Maybe a quick weight loss diet might help me trim my stomach – after eating this drift burger. Lol! ;)

Welcome Home

My SIL Avegail and her cute daughter Erika came home from Canada yesterday morning. It was actually a surprise visit for my in-laws for they never had an idea that they will be coming home this year. Only hubby and I knew that date of their arrival and had kept it a big secret until yesterday. :)

It was 2 in the morning when they arrive, my SIL went directly to her parent’s room and immediately greeted them hello. They were so shock and thought everything was just a dream. But when we opened the lights they finally realized that their eldest daughter and their first grand daughter have arrived from Ontario! :)

Everyone was laughing and I could see in their eyes the joy of being together once again. I was happy too of course! :)

With that, I would like to greet my SIL Gail and my niece Erika a warm “WELCOME HOME”! :)

Takuyaki | Dare to Try?

It’s Sunday once again! Time to spend the day with my family and blogs. Lol! :)

Yup! It’s only on Sunday that I can get enough time for my blog updates but of course that’s not a whole day obligation. My primary task on this day is to spend a quality time with my boys.

Just like what we did this morning, we pulled our inflatable pool outside for a swim. Aj enjoyed the splash for it has been months since we played with it. In a little while, we’ll be driving to the mall to eat Takuyaki.;)

Yup! Its hubby’s favorite and (I think )I do not really like it. Lol! Why? Because it’s an octopus dish! Eww! I haven’t eaten an octopus since the day I was born! But hubby said it is yummy so I might take a little bite later after we’re done buying the acne lotion of my SIL.

Here’s how it looks.

Looks delish, I just hope I can swallow it.lol! :)

Best French Fries under 100 Bucks

I will never go wrong if I say that most of us love French fries. :)

I’ve tasted different kinds of such with different sizes and flavors as well and I could say that most of them have satisfied my cravings. But when I browsed the internet this morning, I discovered that I had only eaten a few of the most delicious.

That’s why as one of my foodie goal this month is to eat these “said to be” most delicious fries below Php100 by Pep.ph.

Here are the TOP 3 on the lists.

1.) CHARLIE’S GRIND AND GRILL

Location: 16 East Kapitolyo Drive, Barangay Kapitolyo, Pasig City
Tel. no. 501-0137
Open from 11:00 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily

Fry factor: At P75, Charlie's Fresh Fries is worth every centavo. For starters, the thick hand-cut slices are fried and salted just right. They're crunchy outside and tasty inside. These are the fries you go for when you're craving for some unadulterated potatoes. They're the real deal. They don't get soggy when they grow cold. In fact, the fries retain their tastiness hours after they're cooked.

Foodie fuss: Charlie's should consider providing take-out packaging for these treats. When we ordered them for to-go, they were just placed in a brown bag—something you can easily overlook because the fries taste great.

2.) NYFD (New York’s Fries and Dips)

Location: 4th Floor, Glorietta 4, Ayala Center, Makati City
Open from 10:00 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily

Fry factor: NYFD'S fries are the kind of fries that'll have you asking, "Where have you been all my life?" A large bucket costs P80 and comes with two dips. (We chose Pesto and Garlic Parmesan.) Tall and thick, the fries and the dip make for a fast meal.

Foodie fuss: Other dips are Red Hot Chili Pepper, Pepper Steak, Hawaiian Curry, Garlic Wasabi, Ranch, Honey Mustard, Cheese, Barbeque, Lemon Herb, and Bacon Onion Tomato.

3.) SANGO!

Location: Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati City
Tel. no. 501-3106
Open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday to Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight, Friday to Sunday

Fry factor: Sango's large fries, which cost P75, make up for being short and fat with its earthy taste. A little bit of salt is enough to bring out the taste of these mildly crunchy fries. Who needs ketchup when fries taste this good?

Foodie fuss: These large fries could be "larger"…but we're only bringing that up because we want more. P.S. Ever heard about the paper bag fat test? A look at the oil stains on the paper pouch above is enough to make one feel guilty about the fat content, but at No.3, we daresay it's worth breaking your diet for.

4.) ARMY NAVY BURGER + BURRITO

Location: Space 2-024 Glorietta 5, Ayala Center, Makati City
Tel. no. 501-3106
Open from 10:00 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily

Fry factor: If you're looking for extra crunchy fries with a chili kick, then Army Navy's P60 Freedom Fries is perfect for you. These thin-cut fries cater to grown-up taste buds--what with its persistent spiciness. You'll be hooked at first munch.

Foodie fuss: These fine fries are served on a nondescript white cardboard container so it doesn't look promising at first glance. Thankfully, one is proven wrong.

You can try them as well and we’ll buzz more about them after they filled our stomachs! ;)

The Side Effects of Hardwork

In my opinion - I'm a hardworking mom. :)

I usually work in the morning at the office and get home at night where I still work for with my online tasks. I’m usually up until midnight and quite frankly I’m not complaining about my life because I love every bit of it.

But of course, there are some parts of my humane life that I may neglect because of my priorities and I realized that one of them is my health. Considering the lack of sleep and stress at work is a sure gateway for illness. I’m honestly getting afraid when I saw the dark spots under my eyes. I believe that this maybe a sign of unhealthiness. That’s why contrary to what I crave and eat I really want to change my diet.

I’m currently on search for an healthy diet and I hoping I can maintain it when I start it. For now, I might look for an under eye wrinkle cream to lessen the lines and dark spots. Wish me luck guys! :)

Sunday Movie Date

It’s Sunday once again and it’s my free day! :)

I planned to blog all day for I have so many updating to do but because the husband is too bored to stay at home we decided to watch a movie after lunch.

We thought of watching this.

~ Resident Evil : AfterLife ~

We’ve watch the “infection”, “apocalypse” and “extinction” so it means we have to watch this too to complete the saga. Though we’re still having second thoughts of watching it because I hate watching a movie in 3D. Yup! I’m not into 3D flicks because it makes me uncomfortable and somewhat dizzy. I’m not use to wearing glasses when a watch a movie maybe that’s the reason behind that but nonetheless I just want to watch in a simple mode.

Now, we’re hoping that we can catch this flick in a non 3D mode on other theaters if not, we might just buy our groceries and go home after that. Wish us luck! :)

Wanted : Hair Loss Shampoo

I badly need a shampoo for hair loss.

You see, it has been months since I noticed that I have hair falls. At first, it didn’t bother me for I thought it was a temporary and a minor thing to consider. But as time passed by, I noticed that more hairs are falling from my scalp. To the point, that even my officemates has noticed! Urgh!

This is not good! I think this dilemma is stress related and I really have to do something about it as soon as possible. :(
