Ways to Reduce Fine Lines

When one reaches the age of 30 the aging process of the skin also starts its rate. Here are some helpful tips to reduce tiny wrinkles that are the beginning of a big skin aging problem.

It is better to start off early with these remedies

.

1. START WITH A SERUM
"It has a higher concentration of wrinkle fighters than a lotion or cream," says dermatologist Mona Gohara, M.D., of Yale School of Medicine. "One with vitamin C, an antioxidant, will also help stimulate collagen production." Try Kiehl's Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate ($58, kiehls.com) under sunscreen-fortified moisturizer in the A.M.

2. CAMOUFLAGE LINES
Crow's feet and marionette lines are especially aging, says Dr. Gohara. For the biggest youth boost, target them with a temporary filler like Yes to Blueberries Deep Wrinkle Filler ($16, drugstores) with wild acacia. For best results, dab it on several times a day.

3. USE THE DERM FAVORITE
Retinoids are gold-standard wrinkle zappers. If you develop redness or flaking, mix a pea-size dab of the retinoid with an equal amount of anti-ager--free moisturizer. Or, for especially sensitive skin, apply moisturizer underneath. We like: Roc Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream ($22, drugstores) and Glow by Dr. Brandt Overnight Resurfacing Serum ($85, Sephora).

4. LAY THE RIGHT BASE
Skip cream foundations: They tend to cake and crease easily on less-than-perfect skin, warns makeup artist Heather Adessa. Stick with a lightweight liquid formula, like L'OrĂ©al Paris True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup ($13, drugstores), and use a brush to dab or stipple it on. Avoid long brushstrokes, which can leave marks similar to fine lines.

5. SKIP LIPSTICK
Swapping lipstick for gloss can help hide fine lines on your lips, says Adessa. "The gel-like consistency fills them in, and because it sits on top of your lips, it won't look like it's creasing. Lipsticks, especially matte ones, settle into lines," she explains.
